Established in Gateshead in 2016, iPac is a family-owned and managed business producing thermoformed plastic packaging for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Commencing production in 2017 and focusing on product quality, innovation, sustainability, and customer service, iPac has gone from strength to strength, securing supply-chain contracts for major UK retailers and growing annual output to over 300 million units.

Jonny is a Chartered Accountant and previously held the role of Finance and Operations Director from iPac’s inception until October 2020 when he took the helm as Managing Director. Alongside his current focus on strategy, sustainability and key accounts, Jonny maintains high level oversight of all Operational, Quality, and Financial processes. Prior to co-founding iPac Jonny was a Senior Manager at Deloitte LLP, London, where his role involved providing Audit and Advisory Services, M&A and Transaction Support and Operational Due Diligence for clients ranging from FTSE100 multinational corporations to private SMEs.

Harry is a thermoforming industry veteran and entrepreneur with over 40 years’ experience in the industry. After working his way up from shop-floor apprentice, Harry set up his first thermoforming company, Penlea Plastics, in 1985. At the point of its sale to Tenneco Packaging (now Paccor) Penlea employed 175 staff. Harry continued at Tenneco for 3 years as UK Group Managing Director in charge of 4 Thermoforming sites employing 750 staff.

In 2000 Harry set up TDX, a thermoforming toolmaker providing design, sampling and tooling to the UK and European thermoforming industry. In 2006 TDX invested heavily in PET extrusion equipment, and at the point of management buyout in 2013 TDX had become UK’s leading independent supplier of thermoforming PET film. In setting up iPac, Harry returned to the tray supply end of the market. Harry stepped down as MD in October 2020 although he remains involved in an advisory and board capacity.

Gary joined iPac in October 2017 from Pactiv (UK), the UK subsidiary of Pactiv LLC (USA), one of the world’s largest packaging Groups.
Having started his career in the print industry, Gary moved to food packaging in 1988, joining HFW Plastics. With a growing focus on food packaging in the business, Gary was appointed as Sales Director and took the business into the protein sectors. Through subsequent roles at Holdfeld and Pactiv, Gary has managed key accounts, delivering significant customer value, and he has designed and launched numerous tray ranges many of which are now industry standard products. His strong technical backing and dedicated customer focus make Gary not only an effective Sales Director but, moreover, a trusted and valued advisor for all key customers’ packaging requirements.

Jean-Louis, “JL” is the most English sounding Frenchman you’re likely to meet. Having spent his life in the South of England, JL moved to the North to help set-up iPac as one of the founding team members. JL was heavily involved in iPac’s site development and operational set-up, and became Operations Manager in June 2018 before progressing to Operations Director in October 2020. JL joined the iPac team from AB-InBev, the world’s largest brewer and, prior to that, worked at Town & Country Fine Foods.

Tayler is founding member of the iPac team and is responsible for all issues of product safety, legality and quality at all stages of the production process. She is also responsible for the development, implementation and management of iPacs BRCGS Quality Management System. Prior to joining iPac she worked in buying for online fashion retail brand ASOS.

Dean is a CIMA Qualified Accountant and joined the business January 2019. As well as running iPac's Finance function, Dean takes pride in maintaining close involvement with all other areas of the business, spanning Operations, Sales and HR, and believes that this style of working ensures the most effective “value-adding” approach for an FD.

Prior to joining iPac, Dean was a Financial Controller at AkzoNobel N.V., a Dutch listed multinational paints and coatings manufacturer. During his time there his work took him across three continents completing roles in Controlling, System Implementation and Management Reporting.

Hannah supports the business in delivering all people related processes in line with iPacs business strategy. She supports management with employee development, motivation and general people management. Hannah has over 10 years of valuable experience working within HR, which she gained from working at large multinational retail companies such as VF Corporation and Swarovski.

Hannah is very people oriented and is passionate about creating tools to maintain iPacs culture which is centred around employee satisfaction. This is a big element in what makes iPac unique, successful and a great place to work.
