As we continue to deliver innovative and sustainable packaging for the food and pharmaceutical industries, expansion is a requirement in order to continue to meet the demands of our clients. With this in mind, we are delighted to announce the establishment of a new production and warehousing site in Tanfield, County Durham.
Phase 1 – Acquiring the New Site
Phase 1 was completed in Q4 2022 with the fit-out of our new 2,500 pallet warehousing unit. This was the last major milestone in what was a significant year for iPac. As well as being our fifth anniversary year, 2022 saw numerous positive progressions, which included welcoming fourteen new team members – bringing staff numbers up to sixty.
We have acquired the new site with the assistance of a commercial agent, HTA Real Estate, who specialise in obtaining industrial and logistics properties in the North East.
This 40,000 sq ft production site is a reflection of the growing demands from new and existing customers.
Phase 2 – Expanding Production
In order for the new facility to be fit for purpose, it is undergoing construction work which is due for completion in May 2023. This will see us build upon our existing market-leading food-contact production facilities, including the installation of two new production lines. The new production site will ultimately allow us to double our production output and continue providing innovative packaging solutions to our growing customer base.
With increased efficiency and production capacity, we look forward to offering our revolutionary thermoformed products to other food and pharmaceutical companies looking to meet ambitious sustainability targets.
As we expand, we will continue to operate with a commitment to quality, precision, sustainability and modernisation. Follow us on LinkedIn for further updates.
